Highways England Update on A38

Highways England say:

“We understand that the Department for Transport is responding to a claim for permission to seek a judicial review of the decision to grant a Development Consent Order (DCO) for the A38 Derby Junctions. The claim is currently under consideration by the High Court.

While the legal process is ongoing, we will not carry out any DCO work.

However, we hope to do some surveys and non-DCO environmental work over the summer while we await a decision. In the meantime, we remain confident this scheme is the best solution for tackling congestion along the A38 corridor, improving journeys, bringing much needed relief to local communities and boosting the economy in the region.”
