Six Streets Walk

If you do not have contact details for Lyn, please use the form here

Main details are:

Date                      Sunday,9th July

Meet                     10.30 outside 75 Wheeldon Avenue

Distance           5 miles

We will start at Osmaston Park. The area we will explore is delightful, with landscaped parkland filled with flowers and colourful rhododendrons. We connect with the beautiful village of Shirley where the church is largely 14th century with an ancient yew tree close-by. The tracks and paths are clear for almost the whole route and it is well stiled and gated.

That said, we will be walking through fields so mud is always a possibility. Distance is 5 miles and there is The Shoulder of Mutton in the village if anyone fancies refreshments afterwards...dogs allowed in the gardens. Please bring water and a sandwich but we might decide to enjoy lunch at the end where we can sit around the village duck pond surrounded by the chocolate box cottages. We can make this decision en-route. Please let us know if you have any queries.

If anyone can offer or would like car share, prior notification makes things easier but not essential. Well behaved dogs on the lead welcome. Mud and lying water are always a possibility so keep this in mind in relation to footwear. There are no shops en-route so please bring water.

Car Share             Will be available on a first come, first served basis.  Prior notification would be appreciated if you can offer car share or you would like a place in a car share.

Dogs                      Well behaved dogs on the lead are always welcome to join us
