20's Plenty Meeting

Research shows that 20 mph speed limits:

  • save lives and reduce accidents

  • reduce carbon emissions and pollution

  • improve air quality

  • increase active travel

Some members of Derby Climate Coalition have set up a 20’s Plenty group to campaign for 20mph speed limits in all residential areas as well as the city centre in Derby. This is one of a growing number of 20’s Plenty campaign groups in the UK and around the world aiming to make cities, towns and villages better for all road users. Many local authorities across England have already committed to this aim - both Wales and Scotland too.

The campaign will be officially launched at the next Derby Community Climate Hub Zoom meeting on Wednesday 6 April at 7pm, when Anna Semlyen of 20’s Plenty for Us, will give a short presentation about the benefits of 20mph speed limits and how other places have overcome opposition to this move.
