Sturgess Fields - second bridge

It’s been a wait but the second bridge between Kedleston Road and Markeaton Street in Sturgess Fields is finally complete. The metal railings must have been difficult to get hold of or to install.

The university as well as replacing the old bridge that at one point the council condemned and was nearing the end of its life has already had another wooden bridge built into the field by the scout hut.

The metal bridge is in the wooded area on the photo below and allows local people to access Watson St from Jonty Farmer as well as going on through to the university site on Markeaton St
