Free Bulky Waste Collection - 2 week special offer 2024

For TWO weeks next year Derby residents will be able to have bulky waste collected for free. Otherwise bulky waste collection charges are 3 items: £34.91, 4 items: £41.06, 5 items: £46.68, 6 items (maximum): £52.30. Fridges and freezers – £12.88 per item.

A free service will run from April next year with the council saying it’s preferred recommendation is to run free-of-charge bulky collections for only two weeks per year – one in the spring period and another week during the winter. So for 50 weeks of the year the service will continue to generate revenue for the council which, like so many others, is not exactly awash with cash.
