Lime e bikes

The plan is that there will be a local ebike stand - probably at the shops. Lime is going to be running the Derby wide hire scheme with their latest model Gen4 e-bikes.

  • A range of 64km with swappable batteries which will be monitored by Lime, keeping e-bikes on the streets for longer

  • Increased motor power to help riders easily climb hills and restart their ride when stopped/stationary at red traffic lights or zebra crossings

  • Built-in front and rear lights – with rear lights that brighten when the bike breaks

  • A phone holder to allow users to easily check sat nav

The first of the bikes will be availble to hire in the Spring with a total of 550 being on the roads by time scheme is fully operational. It is not clear if the Kedleston Rd hub will be there from the beginning or pat of later roll out.

The e-bikes will be available for hire via the Lime app and will cost £1 to unlock and then 17p per minute. Minute bundles will be available to purchase plus low income users can look forward to 50% off because of the Lime Access programme.Eligible riders include existing concession pass holders, key workers, students and job seekers.
