Derby City Council elections - ID needed

Derby City Council elections take place on 2nd May and in order to vote you will need to take ID along?

Why?

Derby is part of a trial looking at whether Voter ID should be a national thing. The pilot focuses specifically on voter fraud at polling stations, where an individual pretends to be someone else (known as “personation”).

There will be no change to postal voting.

The most common photo ID types are likely to be passport, driving licence or Gold Card, and common non-photo ID types are things like your poll card or bank card. A full list is avaialble - more details

If you don’t have any on the full list, you may be able to apply for a Certificate of Identity. For more information on this process, please visit Council website, or contact the helpline on 01332 640837.
