Aida Bliss - change to film studio?

Derby City Council had planned more than 70 new council homes for the site but will now discuss the proposal from MARV which it says would generate economic and social benefits of over £12m a year, including local economy and supply chain spend, job creation at the academy and an increase in visitors to to city.

Marv Studios, best known for the hit films Rocketman, Stardust, Layer Cake and the Kingsman franchise, is proposing to invest £13 million in the building which has been empty for 20 years. It would create a film studio, a fitness and rehabilitation centre, a gym, sports centre and what it says would be Europe's first stunt training centre at the empty building in City Road.

The studio currently operates from bases in London and Los Angeles. Chester Green would be its third centre of operation.
