Blue Bins

In recent weeks, the blue bin collection has been either later in the day than usual or residents in some parts of the area have had to wait until Thursday or Friday for them to be emptied.

If you have your bin out in time (and putting out the evening before makes sure it is there if the lorry comes by at 7.30, just for a change!) and it is not emptied then you can report this online or if you don’t mind probably being on hold for a while, the phone number is 01283 595795.

Please make sure your blue bin doesn’t have any plastic bags in it. The bin crew are supposed to leave a tag to explain that is why it has been left but these can drop off. Plastic bags apparently mean the whole lorry load is contaminated.

If you aren’t happy with the council response, then you can contact a local councillor: martin.repton@derby.gov.uk and once their emails are set up after recent election alison.martin@derby.gov.uk

and alan.grimadell@derby.gov.uk
