Sara Martin, the Read Easy Pioneer, explains the project in the Derby Telegraph

Read Easy UK is a national charity that helps adults learn to read. It works by matching trained volunteer reading coaches 1:1 with non- or beginner readers and has established a successful track record

because of its flexible, fun and free approach.

Sara Martin has just volunteered as the Derby Pioneer for Read Easy so is looking to make things happen here. She is at the stage of assessing the level of need as well as bringing a volunteer Management Team together to run the Read Easy group in Derby.

And then will be finding venues for Reading Pairs to meet along with identifying sources of funding and, of course,

she is looking for volunteers to deliver the service.

The initial reaction from businesses, community groups and potential stakeholders has been positive and there will be a virtual public meeting in May. Ahead of this meeting, she hopes for suggestions, contacts or ideas that may also help drive this project forward.

Please contact Sara if you can help in any way.
