Permit Parking across the Area
The council is implementing the permit parking zone over in Parkfield Cedars area (around Cedar/Longford Sts) and would like to know what residents in nearby areas feel about permit parking. This is because when the university returns to normal working, there may be displacement parking from Parkfield Cedars area to adjoining streets.
Last time the council ran a consultation across Six Streets area the overall turnout was too low for any change and the result was that residents were not in favour of change anyway. However, if people in Six Streets feel strongly that there is a high level of parking from university students and staff, there is always the possibility of another consultation similar to the ones held more recently across Parkfields Cedars and Victoria Streets.
There is the need for a majority wanting changeover to permits along with a high response rate before it would be implemented.
