Fire @ Rivermead House
The Fire Service were called to Rivermead House, Bath Street (city side of Darley Park) on Friday (26th March) night. An adult and a child were taken to hospital.
Some residents were evacuated for a while and the incident is being investigated by the Fire Service which said “The building is well protected for instances such as fire and it has risers installed throughout.” They have in the past carried out evacuation drills and training exercises on reaching the upper floor flats.
Please note that Rivermead House is Derby’s only tower block and, after the Grenfell fire, the council said that it had no such cladding.
