Scooter Stolen - Appeal for Witnesses

This is from Derbyshire Police:

We have arrested two young men on suspicion of committing a robbery in Derby earlier this week, but are still asking for the public’s help.

The incident happened on Mackworth Road at around 5.30pm on Tuesday, 26 May, when a 25-year-old man was attacked, pushed to the ground, kicked and had his motorised scooter stolen.

After initial investigations, two teenagers aged 15 and 16 years, have been arrested and interviewed.

However, the victim reported that there were four people involved in the attack, so we are very keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has been approached to buy a motorised scooter.

The suspects were described as four black men, aged around 18-20, three of whom were wearing black tracksuits with the fourth wearing green coloured clothing.

The stolen scooter was a black and red, Xiomi electric scooter.

Sergeant Dan Potts, who is in charge of the Safer Neighbourhood team for the area, said: “This must have been a worrying situation for the victim to have gone through and whilst he has only received minor physical injuries that does not lesson the seriousness of the crime.

“We have arrested two teenagers, who have now been released whilst our enquiries continue.

“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack, knows anything about it or maybe has been offered an electric scooter for sale since this crime took place.”
