Covid19 Scammers
The council have had reports that people are targeting some Facebook pages and other social media asking for support in getting shopping in or similar because they are shielded/ self isolating.
When a kind person responds, they then recount how they have run short of money/ can’t access their money at the minute and pressurise the person to “loan” them money, sometimes quite large amounts.
If you or anyone you know has seen such posts on Facebook, please make sure no money changes hands and if you think fraud has happened then contact the police. Fraud is dealt with by Action Fraud officers
