Rainbows and Teddy Bears
Children across the country, and so also in Six Streets, will be chasing rainbows and going on bear hunts!
Schools across the country spent time on Thursday and Friday explaining to their pupils why most children will no longer be coming in. In many primary schools, they spent time making rainbow pictures to display at home to spread hope.
From this project comes an idea to encourage children out of the house and to help them stay positive- chasing rainbows where they can take a different walk each day to count how many rainbows they see, perhaps choose their favourite and see the ones their friends have displayed.
People are being encouraged to display a teddy in their windows.
The idea comes from the book “Going on a Bear Hunt” Children - unless they are vulnerable to infection - are allowed out, need to get out so they will be spotting how many bears there are in windows, whether any new ones have appeared or even whether the bears are doing anything different from yesterday!
