Derbyshire Police and Covid 19
With the ongoing response to coronavirus in the UK, people may have seen a change in the way police officers are working.
In line with the current Government advice (as of 18 March) Derbyshire police have stopped a small amount of engagement activity – such as visiting schools or events like Cuppa With A Copper – to help combat the spread of coronavirus.
The police are clear that this does not mean that there will be a reduced service. Officers are out on patrol and the force is ensuring resilience over the coming weeks and months to keep residents, businesses and visitors safe.
People may find that there is a longer than usual wait for any 101 call to be answered. If possible, report any crime via www.derbyshire.police.uk - or report the crime/ incident via direct message on Twitter via www.twitter.com/DerPolContact or by private messaging police Facebook page via www.facebook.com/derbyshireconstabulary.
If you are concerned about crime then people can still speak to officers or contact the police on social media or by using the online contact form on Derbyshire Police website.
It is also important to make sure people are following nhs.uk and Public Health England for all the latest government guidance and ensure that all information shared is from trusted sources.
