Operation Targeting Alleged Bike Thieves In Derby Recovers Dozens of Suspected Stolen Bikes and Other Items
Dozens of suspected stolen bikes have been recovered by officers investigating alleged bike thieves in Derby.
The bikes, as well as several other items, were discovered by officers following the arrests of five people in relation to thefts and robberies across the city.
Officers are now hoping to find the owners of the items which are believed to have been stolen.
PC Mike Novak, said: “Bike theft is a perennial problem across the city and one that we have been working hard to crack down on.
“Many people use bikes as their everyday means of transport and to have that stolen can have a serious impact on victims.
“We suspect that the items pictured have been stolen and I would urge anyone who recognises any of the items to get in touch with us.”

Two men arrested as part of Operation Tradewind have been dealt with at court:
Ronnie McNulty, 54, of Gerard Street, Derby, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on October 7 and pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods and was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay costs of £213.
Stuart Birks, 43, of Markeaton Street, Derby, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on October 7 and pleaded guilty to theft of a bicycle and was handed a community order, including an electronically monitored curfew, and ordered to pay costs of £180.
A 34-year-old man from Derby has been charged with one count of robbery and two counts of theft of a bicycle.
A 43-year-old woman, also from Derby, has also been charged one count of theft of a bicycle and one count of going equipped to steal.
A fourth man, 40, from Derby, has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
