Wheeldon Ave - Police Incident

The incident started around 1.10pm with multiple sirens and four police cars - 2 unmarked and 2 patrol vehicles - blocking Wheeldon Ave at the minute to stop a car that had at least two occupants. Two further patrol cars attended for short while so number of officers was around 10.

After about 20 minutes, traffic could get past the crossroads as police cars parked up instead of being in middle of road. The target car was over to one side and at least one police officer stayed until it was collected by recovery vehicle nearly an hour afterwards.

It seems to have been a case of a driver not stopping earlier when police requested or when there was an accident rather than something as serious as the manpower might indicate. The car’s passenger was not held for more than it took to check details out
