Use of mobile phone while in charge of a vehicle
Derbyshire Police have emailed round reminding people that it is
6 points on your licence, £200 fine and even more
if you are caught using a handheld whilst your keys are in the ignition (so you may not even be driving!)
They say “In the coming weeks, our officers and Safer Neighbourhood teams will be out looking for drivers using their phones at the wheel. We'll be in our cars, at roadside check sites, in an unmarked HGV and, for the first time, getting on the bus for a closer look.
We're also urging drivers with dashcams to send footage https://snap.derbyshire.police.uk “
