Marie coordinates the collection of items to donate to the Red Cross. On the first Sunday of the month, around 30 households across the area donate. She then takes everything into the Red Cross office so it can be distributed to vulnerable people living in Derby.
If you can, please drop your donation to a box outside 22 Wheeldon Ave - it is usually there from the Thursday before to Sunday 3pm. Otherwise use the enquiry form here to get in touch and collection can be arranged.
The Red Cross ask for a range of basic food stuffs, including fresh fruit and veg. Toiletries are also welcome as are seasonal items and items for children. Please make sure your bag is marked as such if it contains fresh produce.
Particularly welcome: UHT milk, rice, instant porridge, tins of fish, meat, chickpeas, butter beans, soups, vegetables, other beans and fruit, pot noodle type snacks, snack bars, rice cakes and chocolate bars.
If you’d like to donate items to help vulnerable people in Derby in a convenient way pop a note into 22 Wheeldon Ave or email 6streetsderby@gmail.com
