The next Six Streets walk will take place on Sunday, 4th June and will take us from Youlgreave along the Lathkill Dale and Bradford Dale rivers. Lathkill Dale always has something of interest to see. At one time this tranquil valley was the centre of a major mining enterprise, with shafts, waterwheels and aqueducts. The scene now is one of woods and flowers with the river flowing peacefully past. The return along the river Bradford passes wide, deep pools where fish lie still in the depths.
There is a steep descent via steps from near car park to Lathkill Dale, then a very pleasant and level walk for the vast majority of the 8 miles but there is a climb at the end; so there will be a lot of ‘view stops’. This is a very interesting and beautiful walk.
