The council recently announced that perimter fencing would be erected in preparation for Highland cattle grazing on the old golf course as part of improving the habitat to forward the rewilding of th ePark. However there was a meeting in Allestree where many people pointed out that there had been no consultation on these plans so it has been shelved.

Hopefully, the council will be arranging consultation events to allow progress on the Rewilding project. In the meantime, there is Wild About Allestree Park
