Update: Six Streets Pavement Resurfacing

Please pass this information on to your neighbours who you think may not see it online - thank you.

The work which was due to start on Monday 17th July has been delayed byt eh contractors until 24th July. The signs say the work will take 2 weeks but council were informed it would be 5 days ie one working week.

The council is aware that the yellow signs across the area say that on street parking will be banned. They do not know why this is the case. The contractors had not made this clear in advance so council had naturally thought the usual practice would apply. As the new surface is hand laid that cars parked nearby would be fine. This is being checked with the contractor and further information will be shared - so please check notices around the area.

Normal practice is to allow on street parking throughout the two weeks while coning off necessary spaces to allow for work vehicles to access the stretch they are working on day by day. Those residents with off street parking will not be able to drive over new surface for a few hours to avoid damage both to tyres and to surface.
