Dispersal Order to tackle car racing issue

Most of Darley Ward, Markeaton Park, parts of Allestree, Mackworth and Chaddesden wards will be under a special police dispersal order to prevent car meets. The area covers sections of these main roads - A38, A61, A52 and A6.

Derbyshire Police say some individuals are causing anti-social behaviour at times, involving driving anti-socially, speeding and racing.

A dispersal order allows police officers the immediate power tackle anti-social behaviour, such as allowing them to move groups on if they suspect such behaviour is likely to occur. It can also mean short-term bans on named individuals returning to the affected area.
