Mystery Substance - Darley Park
Around 10pm on Wednesday night a team of paramedics attended a man who was not well in Darley Park. On the way to hospital, the three paramedics then felt unwell. This may have been due to contact with a potentially hazardous substance at the scene in th park.
Derbyshire Police cordoned off the area until about 11.30am Thursday. After the area was checked out by a specialist team, the tape was removed.
The paramedic team were checked and said to not be in a serious condition with the original patient being described as in a stable condition.
The incident was centred around the bench facing the river with stonework and a plaque with historic information about the park and also around the nearby bin, The police have not said that people should take any precautions in coming days when visiting the park.
