Defibrillator
You may remember at the end of last year Phil posted with the idea of a Six Streets funded community defibrillator? Well, the response to the post was fantastic and resulted in a defibrillator being donated.
The neccessary housing was paid for by previous Six Streets fundraising events and has been installed on:
the external wall of Markeaton Pharmacy
Kedleston Rd, DE22 1FX on the corner with Bromley St
This defibrillator can be accessed by calling 999 and if appropriate, the unlock code will be issued.
If needed, it will talk you through what to do and will block use if it is inappropriate for the patient. Using a public access defibrillator can increase a person’s chances of survival from 6% to 74%.
Heartfelt thanks
to Dan who organised the donation from SNC-Lavalin,
to all at Markeaton Pharmacy for carrying out weekly checks and paying annual electricity charge
and also to Elke for coordinating this project.
