Support Needed - simple housework tasks

 Niki says:

“A neighbour who is recovering from an injury has been receiving some support from a small group of neighbours co-ordinated by me. A similar system has been in place since 2020, for a resident near Ashbourne Rd who has a long term medical condition.

Their condition means they can become fatigued sometimes as they try to continue working and keep up with housework. So they need a little help around the house. Work commitments now mean I am asking for others to join her.

I have put this call out with a view to creating a small private WhatsApp group in which requests for support can be made. The aim is that the person will know there are a handful of people they can trust to pick up jobs between them as and when they crop up.  I have already have one operating for my neighbour who is recovering from an injury.

These are private groups with a handful of trusted neighbours. The individual concerned can drop in requests e.g. for a lift, some shopping or an hour's help around the house. People in the group can pick up requests as and when they have capacity.

There is absolutely no obligation to pick up a task and all help, however limited, will be appreciated.

The Whats App group is a really effective system for helping out friends or neighbours who need a spare pair of hands from time to time. It could be for example making an extra portion of whatever you're having for tea and dropping it off on the doorstep.

At the moment I need another 1 or 2 people to join to help take up some slack. This really is a genuine 'no commitment' thing. If you are at all willing, please contact me on 07976 126685, so I can give you further details before you decide.”
