First Ever December Newsletter!

As a volunteer group, we can be a bit random so apologies to the people expecting the usual Autumn newsletter back in October. It didn’t happen for whatever reason and we have taken on board that many people do appreciate the Hallowe’en notices so will be making extra effort next year.

And as a volunteer group, we are in need of new ideas, new energy and new people - so check out the event at the Creaky at the end of January. It could be just what you need for 2024!

We are trialling this December edition of our newsletter which is packed with information such as where the Windows will be opening right through to Christmas Eve, a very timely piece about Snow Patrol, the Carol Singing with get together at the Horse & Groom after (organised by Gaynor so make sure you read the Local Vocals piece), a reminder about Repair Cafe which can help you save money and reduce landfill waste, advance notice on Playing Out and Easter Event in 2024 with some mindful colouring in to finish with. As ever, we are so grateful to Jane for her fantastic graphics work on our newsletters.

A major event every two years in Six Streets is the Arts Trail which is going to be happening in June 2024 so please check out the details in the newsletter. If you are a local artist or musician (or you have a friend/ family you can host), we would really love you to hear from you. And if you would like your front room or back garden to be a venue then the Arts Trail is the time to do it. Plus the organisers are looking for crafty people to revive the Yarn Bombing which was so enjoyed by hundreds of people in the past. Part of the 2024 Arts Trail will be the arrival of “Blue Plaques” across the area - a pop up exhibition celebrating not the rich or famous but the ordinary folk who have lived in this area down the decades. If you know of a notable character from the past who lived in your house or down the road from you, please get in touch via the enquiry form here
