A38 Project: Latest

The A38 roundabouts project is under legal review after being given the go ahead by the Transport Secretary. This legal challenge is being handled by Richard Buxton Solicitors and is the subject of a crowdfunding appeal. The cost will be £20,000 of which £11, 146 has been raised. There is a deadline later this month for the target amount to be reached.

Highways England has issued regular newsletters on this project which can be viewed here The plans for each roundabout are also there. If the legal challenge is not successful, the major work on the project will start in late summer 2021.

Derby City Council highways subcommittee continues to discuss the A38 project.

Recently it has been reported in national press that the government may review its whole road-building policy in England as their programme may not be in line with environmental legislation.
