School Safety Zone in Place

The pedestrian only zone at school times on Bromley Street and Newton’s Walk has been in place for over a week now. Its introduction has apparently gone as smoothly as can be expected. Council teams have been in the area on different days to help explain the zone and to assess any problems.

It seems that more older children are walking the last section of the school run unaccompanied which does give them some independence. There have been no reports of issues in other streets at school drop off and pick up times.
