New vaccine site for Derby
This is the first community pharmacy organised site in Derby. It will operate alongside the Derby Arena provision.
As long as vaccine is delivered when expected then St John’s Methodist Church in Birchover Way will open on 1st Feb. This is being organised by Allestree Pharmacy and people are asked not to ring the pharmacy to ask when they are likely to be able to attend. It is appointment only and those who qualify will be contacted as soon as possible.
People in the top priority groups go from care home residents and staff, NHS and care sector workers along with the over 80s and then those are over 75, then over 70 and those with extreme clinical vulnerability. It is likely the pharmacy will be using the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine due to the easier storage to supply jabs 12 hours a day, every day of the week.
