Volunteering Request

Six Streets has received a request from John who is blind and in his 80s as he would love to be able to go for walks to Darley Park. He has, in the past, had training in being guided and if the correct technique is used, this is covid compliant.

The council officer responsible for disability provision is happy to come and help any volunteer become confident with what is involved. He is the source for it being a low covid risk activity as the blind person and the guider are not face to face but side by side and offest - there should always be a gap between you although the blind person does have hand contact with an arm.
