Local Buses - 17a update

The future of the 17A bus service was uncertain after council’s initial vote was to remove the £9,000 subsidy it currently receives. The buses serve Allestree, Darley Abbey and run along Broadway before going into town along Kedleston Rd. Some residents along the route are unhappy with the prospect of losing the service and contacted the Telegraph

The future of the 17a bus service has been secured thanks to the announcement of a £40,000 fund from central government last week. The Funding for Supported Bus Services in 2020-21 paper means that Derby has been pledged up to £40,799. Apparently some will be used for the 17a service
