Car Number Plate Theft

A car parked in Wheeldon Ave has had its front plate stolen over the weekend . If you see anyone tampering with a number plate then that is a 999 call. If you have any information about something you saw over the weekend, then please contact the police in a non emergency way

The police have said that front plates are more likely to be taken than rear ones, so if you can park in a way that makes it harder to get at your plates then it might help.

If either or both of your plates are stolen, then report it to the police straight away so that you, as the registered owner, at least don’t have involvement with any crimes committed later (driving away without paying at petrol station etc)

You will also need to replace the plate as soon as possible - check with the police about driving your vehicle to do that.
