Tree Felling & pavement repair

The first I heard of this is seemed to be that there would be tree trimming and pothole repair on Statham St. It is now clear that a tree will be felled on Wed 19th June and the pavement repaired.

From council:

Unfortunately 1 tree to be removed on Statham Street tomorrow.   The ornamental apple tree is located towards the top of the street nearest Park Grove junction.

This tree has a significant cavity in the upper structural limbs which through decay has managed to hollowed down into the main trunk. This tree is at risk of failing at this point which would cause significant damage to a parked car or injure a pedestrian.  

We plan to remove the stump tomorrow and highways may have time to patch the footway as well.
