Beauty Banks

Amanda has set up

a collection point at 40 White Street

for anyone to drop off any donations that they'd like to make to Beauty Banks.

You can place your donation in the box behind the front wall or, if you prefer, press the doorbell to hand items in. In short, donations of deodorant, shampoo & conditioner, body wash, bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tampons, sanitary towels, shaving foam/gel/cream, face moisturisers, nail clippers, hairbrushes, nappies, baby lotion, baby bath, lip balm, any unused and unopened make up..... are very welcome.

Beauty Banks is a non profit set up; a people powered movement allowing those who share the belief that being clean is a basic Human Right, that being clean is crucial for a person’s dignity, mental well being and self-confidence to take positive action.

Beauty Banks exist to provide those living in poverty with basic daily hygiene essentials, personal care items and the odd beauty treat or two.

Beyond the basic daily essentials, Beauty Banks also believe that beauty items can support those in crisis who are looking for a job, who are going back into education (or are in education) or simply to instill some self confidence.

Beauty Banks collects new unused products

which are then thoughtfully packaged and mindfully distributed - via trusted charity partners - to the homeless (hidden and otherwise) and families and individuals who rely on Food Banks and those in our society who need our support.

It is shocking that in the UK school attendance can be affected by about 137,000 girls not beng able to afford sanitary products - BBC article

PS Amanda is also still collecting sleeping bags, gloves and hats for the Soup Run!
