As University of Derby has suspended lectures and Derby City Council is postponing events - this event may well not be taking place.
SPEAKERS:
Professor Stephen Martin, founding Chair of the Higher Education Academy’s Sustainable Development Advisory Group and a former member of the UK‘s UNESCO Education for Sustainability Forum. He will review the evidence about the scale, timing and urgency of the risks posed by climate change to determine whether an emergency response is both necessary and feasible.
Jonathan Ward, Principal Energy Policy Officer, Nottingham City Council will talk about the Nottingham plan to become a Zero Carbon City by 2028 and using the SCATTER software which supports local authorities to measure greenhouse gas emissions and build carbon reduction plans.
There will also be an update from the City Council on its plans!
