"In light of the tragic death of a 25 year old female cyclist earlier this week on Ashbourne Road, there is a gathering to make sure her passing is acknowledged in the wider community and to raise awareness of the lack of safe cycling infrastructure which causes so many unnecessary accidents and fatalities.

The famiuly have been contacted via the police to seek their permission and at their request there will be no personal details and no photos taken or shared.

The gathering will be happening at 6pm this Sunday, the 26th January by the entrance to Markeaton Park. Instead of candles, bring a bike light or torch.
